A Guide to the Different Home Styles

As a home buyer, you’re looking for a home that will suit your specific needs. That’s why we offer a wide range of Home Styles, each with its own distinctive features.

Each community’s website lists the Home Styles that are currently available there. To navigate to that page, choose the “Find Your Home” tab and select “Home Styles & Builders” from the drop-down menu.

You can also view the location of specific Home Styles within the community by choosing the “Exploring Our Community” tab, selecting “Community Lot Map,” then clicking the check-box of the Home Style that interests you.

To assist you in your choice, here is an overview of the various Home Style options.

SINGLE FAMILY HOMES

This classic Home Style is a freestanding building that is separate from the neighbouring homes. The variations within this style often relate to the placement of the garage. For example, a front attached garage provides a convenient all-seasons entrance to the house from within the garage. Alternatively, rear lane homes may be more visually appealing from the front because the garage is located separately at the back.

Here are some examples of different types of Single Family homes:

Single Family Front Attached Garage
This is one of the most popular choices, with the garage located at the front.

Single Family Rear Lane
These homes have a detached garage located at the back, accessible by an alley or laneway.

DUPLEX

Featuring two distinct living spaces within a single structure, each home includes a basement, an open-concept main floor, and bedrooms upstairs. They are a great choice for families seeking a home with a more affordable price tag.

Duplex Front Attached Garage
In this type of Duplex, both garages are located at the front.

Duplex Rear Lane
In this type of Duplex, both garages are located at the back, accessible by an alley or laneway.

TOWNHOMES

Townhomes have multiple units built together in a row, with each townhome sharing at least one wall with the neighbouring units. Townhomes typically have multiple stories with the living space on one level and the bedrooms above. They are popular with young families looking for their first home as well as retired couples who want to downsize.

Townhome Front Attached Garage
An attached garage is located at the front of the Townhome.

Townhome Rear Lane
A detached garage is located at the back with rear lane access.

EXECUTIVE

These homes are built on wider lots, which increases their overall square footage. Executive homes have greater options for customization, premium fixtures, and high-end finishes. They can also accommodate a three-car garage, if desired.
